A Wedding at The Torridon
I had my last wedding at The Torridon this month and this time it wasn’t a Just You Two wedding – there were actually quite a few guests! While I am lucky to be there regularly photographing weddings where couples elope to get married, it is nice to also see this gorgeous hotel buzzing with happy people, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and, of course, the lovely food supplied by The Torridon’s chef.
When I arrived Silvia was having the final touches put to her hair and make up by local beautician Laura from Ullapool, while Amanda Call was ensuring her floral creations looked just right, on the grand staircase.
Silvia and Andrea, her soon to be husband, are both from Italy but live in London, and their parents and family had travelled from Italy for the occasion, although had very little English, so there was a bit of translating going on. Especially wonderful to see was Andrea’s grandmother who is in her 90’s but still rides her bike every day to the shop to get bread. Amazing.
Silvia’s friend Uma was her right hand woman for the day, while Andrea’s best man was his namesake – also Andrea. That caused a little confusion during the photographs!
The ceremony was conducted by the lovely Gillian from Highland Council who I’ve worked with before at The Torridon and is so easy to work with. Spirits were high all day, and there were a few tears shed during the speeches, which were done in both Italian and English!
Here are some of my favourite photographs from Silvia and Andrea’s big day. Special thanks again to Colleen and Bridget and the rest of the great staff at The Torridon who make working there such a pleasure.
