Wedding Photography Duisdale Hotel | Ariel + Matt
At the end of last month, I met up with Ariel and Matt who had travelled over from the USA to get married on the Isle of Skye. Although they had technically eloped, they did broadcast their ceremony via the internet, to their families back in Florida and Oaklahoma (and it worked!). I loved their cute little tandem ornament – made by an artist in Canada – because they have a tandem bike.
Sadly the weather was particularly rubbish, but the newlyweds were very brave and agreed to venture out into the drizzle for a wee while. I met up with them later in the week for another little photoshoot and Matt was pleased to see a “hairy coo”! All the best to you both for a long and happy future together.

I live where I grew up, in the north-west Highlands of Scotland, near the Isle of Skye. I left home at 18 and returned 18 years later and I've worked as a secretary, a marketing assistant, a PR manager, and a local news reporter.
Although I've always loved looking at pictures in magazines, I didn't really get 'into' photography until I was quite old - 36!! Now, five years on, it is my full time occupation and I DO love it, but that is as much from the folk I get to meet and the fun of being part of a wedding day, as it has to do with having a camera in my hand. I just really, really like meeting new people, especially happy people!
Here's another few snippets of info:
At 34 I had an early midlife crisis and took off on a long trip from London to Kenya via Russia, Mongolia, China, Tibet, Nepal, India and several African countries - it was the best year of my life.
I never gave up on the idea of finding 'the one' and a few weeks ago - aged 41! - I walked down the aisle myself.
The second biggest love of my life is Flora - the funniest, cleverest, cutest little doggy ever!
I've climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and done a Marathon - okay, it was the Moonlight Bra Walk Marathon....but 26.2 miles is 26.2 miles!
I love perfume - especially if the bottle is quirky; my latest purchases were Gucci Flora and Balenciaga.
Coming back to my roots is the best thing I've ever done; Edinburgh and London - good times - but now I can have a dog, grow my own veg, breathe clean air and see the sea, every single day.
I love films, magazines and eating - if I can do all three while camped out on the couch or in the bath, I'm happy!
I am quite a soppy romantic, and I really, really, really love my job.
Thanks, Lynne! We had so much fun hanging out with you, and we love our pictures!

Congratulations Matt & Ariel! What lovely photographs Lynne! I love that you captured their personalities:)
Great photos guys. Everything looks perfect.
I can’t decide which is my favorite, I’ve got like 6 or 7! So beautiful! xo
Grape-juice spill photo is a classic.
Oh my God! how can anyone who knows you both not be touched by these magnificient photos! Tears in my eyes and butterflies in my heart. How very absolutely beautiful, these blissful moments captured on film in this most exquisite setting, this inviting road of life you too are going to be traveling on. Thanks for sharing these Ari and Matt. Loving and missing you both.

Wow. beautiful. love love love to you both.
Beautiful pictures of a happy couple. My favorite is the close up near the water (just before pic near the building). Be happy, live long, and prosper.
You two look amazing together! I like how the first picture of you two there isn’t a ring yet and then the last picture the ring just seems to stand out and say It is official “Matt and Ariel are Married” Congratulations to my friend and his new bride!
I’m already married- we tied the knot last September. My husband and I (both American) had traveled to Scotland and the Highlands before (me a few more times than him), and we desperately wanted a destination wedding there. Both our families nixed that plan though, and we reluctantly got married in the States.
I completely fell in love with these pictures and was inspired. When we come back to Scotland again I’m definitely planning a ‘just the two of us’ vow renewal. While I did like my wedding very much, I wanted it to be just like this! It’s absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
